How I got here
Before I was talking about energy,I was talking about outfits.

01
HOW I GOT HERE

Before I was talking about energy, I was talking about outfits.
I became a boutique owner in my twenties in a way I never could have planned.
After losing my mentor, Diva, her family trusted me with the stores she had built, and suddenly I was immersed in women, clothes, dressing rooms, business, big life conversations + the very specific magic of helping someone put something on and think:
yes. this feels like me.
For years, that was my work.
Buying collections. Styling women. Building businesses. Clearing racks. Reworking closets. Asking questions. Helping someone see what was already working and what no longer belonged.
And somewhere in all of that, I learned something that still shapes the way I work now:
Most of the time, people already know more than they think they do. I’m just good at asking questions, holding up the mirror + helping them see what feels like them.
Turns out, that applies to a lot more than clothes.
02
THE CONVERSATION GOT BIGGER.

The unseen has always felt close to me.
I’ve dreamed about Angels for as long as I can remember, and as I’ve lost more people I love — Diva, my Dad, my brother Donald, my cousins Katie + Casey — my relationship with that part of life has only deepened.
I’ve had dreams that felt like visits.
Moments of knowing I can’t neatly explain.
Times when I’ve perceived colors and energy around people and felt there was more being communicated than words alone could say.
I don’t need anyone else to understand those experiences exactly the way I do.
They’ve simply become part of how I understand my own life.
And strangely, the more intimately I’ve known loss, the more devoted I’ve become to being here.
The outfit.
The trip.
The laugh.
The idea.
The people you love.
The thing you keep saying you’ll do someday.
The ordinary Tuesday you almost forgot to notice.
All of it has made me want to build a life I love — and be fully present to enjoy it.
Our time on this planet is limited.
I don’t believe we are.
03
SOME GIRLS ENERGY GREW FROM THERE.

The clothes stayed.
The conversation expanded.
Into movement. Meditation. Sound. Nervous system care. Energy. Creativity. Intuition. Personal style. And the relationship between the life people can see and the one happening inside us.
I became a Kripalu-trained yoga instructor and completed sound training through The Alchemy Sound Bath Studio in New York City, but I’m still doing something very similar to what I was doing in those dressing rooms years ago:
Helping people notice.
Helping them ask better questions.
Helping them clear what doesn’t fit.
Helping them remember a little more of themselves.
Sometimes that happens in a closet.
Sometimes through movement.
Sometimes through sound.
Sometimes it happens because someone finally gets quiet enough to hear the answer she already had.
I’m fascinated by the physical and the non-physical — by the body we dress, feed, move + care for, and by the awareness, energy, intuition + inner knowing we carry through this lifetime.
You don’t have to believe everything I believe to belong here.
Some Girls Energy isn’t about handing you a worldview.
It’s about helping you get a little closer to your own.
04
AND I’M STILL MAKING THINGS.
Some Girls Energy is one part of a much bigger creative life.
I write Before Everything, I’m developing After All, I’m working on new apps, I finished my first children’s book, I still love making ridiculous things for Some Girls Get High, and there is almost always another idea somewhere on my Notes app waiting for its turn.
I’m endlessly curious about what makes a life feel more beautiful, more interesting, more connected + more yours.
And after everything this life has taught me so far, maybe that’s the thread through all of it:
I still care deeply about what you wear.
I care just as much about how you feel on the inside.
love always & 444ever
Margaret
